The In-Check DIAL G16 assists healthcare providers in guiding patients on proper inhaler usage. It assesses peak inspiratory flow rate and can mimic the resistance features of a patient's specific inhaler when set correctly. This allows patients to be trained to inhale at a flow rate optimal for their DPI or pMDI.
The updated In-Check DIAL now categorizes inhalers based on their internal airflow resistance to include new devices. There are six resistance categories, five for dry powder inhalers (DPIs) and one for pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDIs). A guide to determine the resistance category for each inhaler is available on the In-Check DIAL and in the accompanying guide. The device can still measure the specific flow rate of an inhaler using a particular restrictive adapter, which is now included in the package.
