While the electrodes are well-protected before use, they become susceptible to environmental factors once unsealed, creating a need for everything to function perfectly on the first attempt. Having a backup set of Physio Control Redipak Quick Combo Electrodes available alleviates this pressure.
Once the electrodes are taken out of their protective packaging, the pads feature instructional guides to assist first responders in correctly positioning them on the patient.
After placement, the pads will start analyzing the patient's heart and relay the data to the defibrillator to assess if treatment is necessary.
If treatment is recommended, the defibrillator will either automatically deliver the shock (in fully automatic models) or instruct the first responder to administer the shock by pressing the button (in semi-automatic models).
