Ointment dressings with silver are crafted from a hydrophobic polyamide lattice tulle, featuring fibers coated with elemental silver. These dressings exhibit antimicrobial properties effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. They are infused with a neutral ointment base, free from vaseline or other paraffins, allowing exudate to pass through. The dressings are exceptionally soft, drapable, and non-adherent to wounds, maintaining effectiveness over extended use without causing sensitization or allergic reactions, and providing antimicrobial protection for up to 7 days.
The ointment base comprises:
A blend of natural or plant-based fatty acid esters, combined as di- and triglycerides, Macrogol 2000.
