It depends on your waste streams, container sizes and how often you need collections. Most small practices pay a fixed monthly fee for a regular collection. Send us your details or a recent waste invoice and we'll send you a clear monthly price, usually within 48 hours.
Collections are carried out by licensed waste carriers and treated at permitted disposal facilities. Vena Cava is registered with the Environment Agency as an upper-tier waste broker and dealer (CBDU669967). We arrange and manage the service, and you deal with one supplier for both your supplies and your waste.
Hazardous waste, including most clinical waste, must travel with a consignment note, and producers must keep these records for at least three years. Non-hazardous waste, such as offensive (tiger) waste, needs a waste transfer note kept for at least two years. Our guide to waste transfer notes explains what each note must include. We keep your collection paperwork together so it is ready when a CQC or Environment Agency inspector asks.
Yes. Tell us who you use and when your contract ends. We'll quote ahead of your renewal date, help you give notice on time, deliver your containers and book your first collection so there is no gap in service.
No. We don't ask for multi-year contracts. Founding customers also get their collection price locked for 12 months.
Sharps (including medicinally contaminated sharps), infectious orange-stream waste, offensive tiger-stream waste, pharmaceutical waste and expired medicines, and dental waste including amalgam. Other streams can be arranged on request.
Yes. If you're clearing expired stock, refitting, closing a site or just have overflow, we can arrange a single collection with no ongoing agreement.
