The Ferno PXB Pool Extraction Board is a specialised rescue device designed to assist lifeguards and aquatic safety teams in the rapid and controlled removal of swimmers from swimming pools. Engineered for professional rescue environments, this board allows trained operators to stabilise and extract casualties safely while minimising manual handling risks.
This innovative pool rescue board is suitable for both deck-level pools and pools with a freeboard. Its neutral buoyancy allows the board to remain stable on the water surface, helping rescuers position and secure the casualty quickly while maintaining proper spinal immobilisation where required.
Efficient Pool Rescue Solution
The PXB board has been developed to streamline rescue operations and reduce the number of personnel required during a pool extraction. In many situations, only two trained operators are needed to carry out a rescue in deck-level pools, while three operators may be recommended for pools with higher edges.
The board features an integrated anchor mat at the head end, allowing one operator to stabilise the board securely against the poolside while the casualty is positioned and secured. Once immobilised using the restraint straps, the board can be smoothly extracted from the water using the integrated drag handle.
Designed for Safety and Stability
A full-length neoprene anti-slip mat improves grip and comfort for the casualty while providing stability during the rescue process. Colour-coded restraint straps make it quick and intuitive for rescuers to immobilise the patient, helping to maintain proper positioning during extraction.
The included head restraint system supports C-spine immobilisation, making the board suitable for situations where spinal or head injuries are suspected. The board’s underside runners are designed to assist with controlled movement and easier extraction from the pool.
