BD Microtainer® LH (Lithium Heparin) Blood Collection Tubes are single-use, non-sterile capillary blood collection devices manufactured by Becton Dickinson. Designed for in vitro diagnostic use, each tube is pre-coated with lithium heparin anticoagulant to produce a plasma sample from a small-volume capillary draw — typically a heel prick, finger prick or earlobe puncture.
These tubes are used by trained healthcare practitioners in hospitals, GP surgeries, paediatric units and community phlebotomy services to collect, store and transport human capillary blood samples. After collection, the sample is centrifuged to separate plasma from cells for downstream laboratory analysis including biochemistry panels, electrolytes and drug-level monitoring.
