Central blood pressure refers to the pressure within the aorta, the primary artery connected to the heart. Measuring central blood pressure may provide a more accurate indication of cardiovascular risk compared to measuring blood pressure in the upper arm, as the aorta is closer to the heart and brain, the body's most critical organs.
