Indoor or outdoor?

• Indoors: a wall bracket or an alarmed cabinet in a reception, lobby or main corridor. The alarm sounds when the door is opened, which deters misuse and alerts others that the AED is in use.
• Outdoors: a weatherproof, heated cabinet protects the AED and pads from cold and damp. Keypad locked cabinets can be registered with The Circuit so the ambulance service can give callers the code.

Make it easy to find

Mark the AED location with clear signs at eye level and on approach routes, and add strobes or projecting signs in long corridors or large buildings.
